Press ReleasesVictoria’s Premier Flag Shop Returns on Flag Day! Victoria, BC (February 12, 2013)—February 15th is not just National Flag of Canada Day; it’s also the grand re-opening of Victoria’s Flag Shop on Fort Street in downtown Victoria. The new managing partner, Paul Servos, is the former CEO of the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority and has an extensive background in business consulting. Jamie Webb, former owner/operator of The Flag Shop Victoria, will use his knowledge and expertise to mentor Paul on the flag and banner business. The Flag Shop has been operating in Victoria since the early 1990’s but has been absent for the last few years. Susan Braverman, President of The Flag Shop and Textile Image, Inc., says the return of the store is a welcome one. “We’re so excited to bring back The Flag Shop Victoria. Even though we have been servicing Vancouver Island from our Vancouver head office, we’re happy to have a local presence there again.” Paul will continue to carry the standard as one of thirteen Flag Shops across Canada. Victoria’s Flag Shop will offer custom products such as custom flags and banners, manufactured locally in addition to a full stock of local and national flags, flags from around the world, marine flags, flagpoles, banners, banner hardware, and pennants for southern Vancouver Islanders. Mayor Dean Fortin will raise the flag at the grand opening at 11:15 am on Friday, February 15th. The President of Textile Image Inc., Susan Braverman, will also be in attendance to launch the new Flag Shop franchise. The shop is located at 822 Fort Street in Victoria. The public is invited to come to our grand opening on February 15th and help open the doors and raise the flag on National Flag Day. A complimentary Canada stick flag will be provided to all that attend so they can celebrate the day. National Flag of Canada Day was instituted in 1996 to commemorate the inauguration of the Canadian flag on February 15, 1965. ---30---
Contact: Susan Braverman, President of The Flag Shop Contact: Paul Servos, Owner of The Flag Shop Victoria The Flag Shop: Founded in 1975 in Vancouver, Canada, The Flag Shop was the first specialty flag shop of its kind. One hundred percent Canadian owned with headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia, The Flag Shop currently has thirteen locations from coast to coast across Canada. Founded by Doreen Braverman, the business has remained in the family with her daughter Susan Braverman officially buying the company in 2010. After switching its focus from being just the first exclusive flag retailer to becoming the premier banner manufacturer in Canada, The Flag Shop made big investments in state-of-the-art printing technology. The new DuPont Artistri printer paired with Echotex® and other top quality fabrics has shot The Flag Shop to the top of its market by continually producing beautiful banners, flags, and other soft signage for any occasion. With over 35 years in the business, The Flag Shop considers itself the most sustainably-conscious flag and banner manufacturer in Canada and possibly North America. Susan’s philosophy is “Since we will never be the biggest, let’s do everything in our power to be the best”, which refers not only to quality but to being a socially conscious and sustainable business. |
